A New Beginning...

Bruce & Jenn's Great Northern Adventure is coming to an end... we've sold Golden Eagle Camp! When we bought the camp in 2009, we planned to spend 10 years here. But the right buyers came along just a little early. Mike & Liz Young from Hamilton, Ontario will officially take over on Wednesday.

We've had a great life here, even better than expected! By far the best thing about owning a lodge is the all the fantastic friends we've made...friends we hope to have forever. It's been a lot of work, but it's very rewarding to see guests come back year after year, watch the children grow up, and be a little part of the family. We're extremely grateful to our loyal guests for making the camp what it is today and making our time here so memorable.

To help the new owners get settled, we'll stay on for a couple more weeks before heading back to Nova Scotia for good. We won't be completely retired... plan to stay in tourism, just something easier to manage. We've purchased an old Victorian house as a vacation rental, as well as 75 acres along an ATV trail for “glamping” domes. Late Spring

Still a lot of snow and ice, but at least the weather is warm.  The river is now open from the bridge to the trailer park.  We're working hard to get ready for opening May 19!

Closed for the Winter

The snow is here and we're ready for the deep freeze... we'll re-open in May when we thaw out!

For Privacy Lovers...

Our outpost cabin still has some openings this Summer... it's boat in only, no electricity or running water, but beautiful scenery and so private!  Only 1/2 hour from the main camp, it's easy to come back for supplies or a shower.  Rent it for just a couple of nights or a whole week.  $135/night or $800/week including a boat - or $85/night or $520/week if you bring your own boat.

Fish Story

Joe from Ohio has been coming here for 8 years and has caught a lot of fish!  This Spring he caught & released this 15 lb pike, but not much of a story to tell.  He would like to say it spooled him out and he fought it for 20 minutes... but the truth is, it was lazy and came right to the boat.

Wet Weather

Spring is here!

We're busy, busy, busy getting the camp ready to open for the season!  Spring has come early, there's very little snow left and the river is wide open.  We'll be ready to welcome guests very soon - can't wait!

Congratulations Moose Hunters!

As an outfitter, we receive one cow tag in WMU 28.  Brad Munro and gang were able to fill that tag yesterday with this nice moose - good job guys!

Cabins available in October!

The Fall is a pretty time of year here... fishing, hiking, atving, bird hunting, or just relaxing!  We still have openings in October, now that there's so little moose hunting going on.  Please consider a Fall vacation and call or email for availability!

Spring into Summer

The weather this Spring was crazy... drastically changing temperatures made the fishing unpredictable.  But the mighty Montreal River never lets us down!  We only took a few resident hunters for the new Spring bear hunt, we're continuing our primary focus to be on the Fall hunt.  Here's pictures of Trent with his bass and Erick with his bear - we're thankful for the new friends we've made so far this season!

We're open for the season!

The ice is clear on Sydney Creek all the way to the river.  We have several cottages ready, the store is stocked, ATVs are good to go, and we're putting boats in the water.  We're ready to welcome guests!

The Meltdown

As we wait for the river to clear, we're working hard to get the camp open for Spring fishing and bear hunting.  Anxious to see our regular guests and meet the new ones!

Spring Bear Hunt is back!

Just announced, Ontario now officially has both a Spring and a Fall black bear hunting season.  We're almost fully booked for the Fall hunt, but are now taking reservations for June 2016.  Please call or email for more information!
